Everett, Wash. – The Port of Everett, with the support of our valued community sponsors, is excited to announce the 6th Annual Sail-in Cinema outdoor movies series with a new hybrid format. The FREE, family-friendly program maintains its summer Friday night slot at the Port’s Boxcar Park July 16 thru August 20, offering a variety of movie choices.

“We are thrilled to welcome the community back to Boxcar Park in a hybrid format that allows us to accommodate the growing demand for this free outdoor event while considering the varying comfort-levels of our attendees as we return to in-person events,” Port of Everett Public Affairs Manager Catherine Soper said. “We have plenty of space to social distance, but if you’re not quite ready to join us in the park, or if you simply like the nostalgia, the drive-in option provides a fun alternative.”

Boxcar Park will open one hour before showtime for event goers to snag their spot, enjoy music and yard games, grab free fresh-popped popcorn and purchase concessions. A rotating food truck and the 21+ beer garden hosted by the Mukilteo Chamber is also making a comeback this year.

With the revised layout, boater viewing from the Port’s North Docks is limited. Boaters are still encouraged to ‘sail-in’ to the Port’s North Guest Dock 6 and walk up to enjoy in park viewing.

This event announcement comes in anticipation of the full reopening of Washington state and Snohomish County. The Port will continue to monitor state and local public health guidance and modify the event format if necessary.

A special thank you to all Sail-in Cinema community sponsors whose funding allow the Port to continue offering this free community program: Gold Sponsors: Hotel Indigo Seattle Everett Waterfront and  STOEL RIVES LLP | Silver Sponsors: KPFF Consulting Engineers and PND Engineers | Bronze Sponsors: Coastal Community Bank and GeoEngineers.
