The Port of Everett Commission is seeking applications for candidates to fill the District 1 Port Commission seat that will be vacant effective August 29, 2017. Applications will be accepted from September 14, 2017 thru October 16, 2017. Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 with a completed application which requires proof of residency from the Snohomish County Auditor’s office and proof of voter registration.

Deadline: Monday, October 16, 2017 @ 5 p.m. via the Port of Everett website only. No paper copies will be accepted. Please keep a copy of the confirmation receipt for your records, and notify the Port at 425.259.3164 within 24 hours of submittal if you did not receive a confirmation e-mail with your application submittal.
Appointment Process: The Port Commission will hold a special meeting on October 24 to include an executive session at the beginning of the meeting to review District 1 candidate qualifications and then resume the special meeting to selected the individuals for interviews to be conducted on October 30 during a special meeting at the Port of Everett's Blue Heron Room (2nd floor), 1205 Craftsman Way, Everett, WA 98201. After the public interviews on October 30, the Port Commission will adjourn into executive session – no decisions will be made.
On November 2, at another special meeting, the Port Commissioners will discuss the merits of the candidates in public session and vote on the candidate to be appointed to the District 1 position. The appointment lasts until the next election at which time anyone seeking to run for the position will have to stand for election for the balance of the unexpired term and thereafter anyone seeking to run for the position will stand for election in 2021 for the next 6-year term.

Port Commission will vote on the appointment of the District 1 position.
This position will be valid until the Snohomish County auditor confirms
the results of the November 2019 election. The Port will issue a press release on the appointment.
|November 2019||Appointment concludes, elected Commissioner will serve the balance of the 6-year term.
