The Port of Everett plays an important role in the creation of jobs in Snohomish County and Washington state. We rely on the services of qualified contractors and vendors from a variety of industries to maintain and upgrade our facilities.

Opportunities with the Port include:

The Port structures its competitive requirements for consulting services (professional and personal services) procurements based on dollar threshold:

Personal

Category 1: Under $50,000 (Non-competitive)
Category 2: $50,000 to $300,000 (Informal competition)
Category 3:
$300,000 and over (Formal Competition)

Professional

Category 1: Under $300,000 (Informal competition)
Category 2:
Over $300,000 (Formal Competition)

Contracts under $300,000 generally utilize the Consultant Roster. The Port encourages all firms interested in doing business with the Port to join the Consultant Roster on MRSC Rosters, a shared small public works and consultant roster database for Washington State. To be eligible, register your company for free and select "Port of Everett" in your account. For registration questions, contact MRSC Rosters at 206.625.1300 or by e-mail.

All contracts over $300,000 are publicly advertised.

The Port may make purchases through the open market, cooperative purchasing contracts or formal advertised solicitations. 

Goods and services are typically procured as follows:

Goods

Category 1: $1 - $5,000 (Non-competitive)
Category 2: $5,000 to $20,000 (Informal competition)
Category 3:
Over $20,000 (Formal Competition)

Purchased Services

Category 1: Under $50,000 (Non-competitive)
Category 2:
$50,000 to$300,000 (Informal competition)
Category 3: Over $300,000 (Formal Competition)

The Port encourages vendors and suppliers interested in doing business with the Port to register on the Goods and Services Roster on MRSC.

Major Construction (Public works equal to or more than $300,000):
Projects with estimated costs exceeding $300,000 are advertised in the Everett Herald and Daily Journal of Commerce. Bid documents are available at SolicitBid.com.

Small Works (Public Works less than $300,000.00):
The Port maintains a Small Works Roster for Public Works contracting opportunities under $300,000.

Job Order Contracting (JOC)
The Port has two on-call public works contracts also known as Job Order Contracts (JOC).  These contracts are with Burton Construction, Inc. (BCI) and Saybr Contractors, Inc., and require 90% utilization of subcontractors. In accordance with RCW 53.08.440, the Port of Everett maintains a database of contracts on its website, which is updated at the beginning of each quarter. The database includes Professional (A&E) Services, Personal Services and Purchased Services contracts for $5,000 or more. A separate database is maintained for Public Works.
