Mount Baker Terminal streamlines operations at the Port of Everett’s shipping terminals by reducing BNSF Railway shutdowns when oversized aerospace parts are transported from the Port’s deep-water terminals to Paine Field Airport.
All of the oversized parts for the 747, 767, 777 (soon to be the 777X) and some 787 parts are transported into the Port’s shipping terminals and then barged to this satellite pier, and railed up the steepest operating grade in North America to The Boeing plant at Paine Field. This $30 million facility was funding in part by state grant dollars.
- Proximity to deep draft port
- On-dock rail; direct access to BNSF mainline
- 50-ton, rail-mounted straddle gantry crane
